How We Create Content

Last updated: October 2026

This page walks you through exactly how a post gets made on Daily Style Sage, from the first spark of an idea to the moment it goes live and the updates that follow. If you have ever wondered who checks the claims behind an outfit recommendation, here is the honest answer.

What We Stand For

Daily Style Sage exists to give you outfit ideas and style advice you can use on a real Tuesday, with a real closet and a real budget. We want every post to be accurate, practical and honest about what works and what doesn't. Fashion is full of trend hype, and our job is to sort the wearable from the forgettable so you can trust what you read here.

From Idea to Published Post

Every article follows the same path. Nothing skips a step, however small the post.

  1. Choosing the topic. Ideas come from reader emails, the questions people search for and the styling problems we run into ourselves. We ask whether the post will actually help someone get dressed.
  2. Research. We gather what is already known about the topic, from fit and fabric to what is in stores this season, and note what is missing or wrong in existing advice.
  3. Drafting. We build the outfits and write up what each piece is, how it fits and why the combination works.
  4. Fact-checking. Every detail in the draft is checked against reliable sources, as described below.
  5. Formatting and images. We organize the post so it is easy to scan, source or shoot the images, add useful alt text and give credit wherever it is due.
  6. Editorial review. A human editor reads the whole post, as described below.
  7. Final check and publishing. We test links, read the post once more on a phone screen and only then publish.

How We Research

For a fashion blog, the best research is hands-on. Where we can, outfits are put together, worn or fitted on a real person, and we note what pinches, wrinkles, rides up or doesn't survive a full day. We back that up with brand sizing charts and product documentation, trade and fashion publications, and the work of established stylists and designers.

Checking Our Sources

We prefer primary sources to secondary ones. For a product, that means the brand's own materials rather than someone else's summary of them. Fabric content, sizing, care instructions and prices are checked against the brand or retailer. Trend claims are checked against more than one credible fashion publication, and anything we cannot verify stays out of the post.

How We Fact-Check

Before any post is published, we check:

  • Product details such as fabric, fit notes, colors and sizes.
  • Prices and whether an item is still sold.
  • Statistics, dates and the names of brands, designers and people.
  • Quotes and the sources they came from.
  • Anything time-sensitive, such as seasonal trends or sale periods.

The Last Pair of Eyes

Every post is reviewed by a human editor before it goes live. At Daily Style Sage, that is the site's lead editor, Sara Sydney, who also founded it. The editor checks that the advice is accurate, the post is clear and the outfits genuinely work, and sends anything that falls short back for changes. A post that doesn't pass is not published.

How We Use AI Tools

Daily Style Sage may use AI tools to help with research and to improve quality, such as checking grammar and making a post clearer and easier to read. AI is not used to automate publishing, and it is not used to produce low-effort content. Every piece of content goes through human editorial review and fact-checking before it is published.

What Every Post Meets Before It Goes Live

  • A clear purpose: it helps a reader solve a real styling question.
  • Something of value beyond what is already out there, such as our own fit notes or styling tips.
  • Supporting evidence or research behind its claims.
  • A clear structure that is easy to read on a phone.
  • Accurate information, with working links.
  • Useful images with descriptive alt text.
  • Proper credit for any image, quote or idea that isn't ours.

Who Writes and Edits

Daily Style Sage is a small, focused operation, not a content factory. The author brings personal styling experience and dedicated research to every article. If other contributors join, they will have relevant experience in fashion and styling, and their work goes through the same review as everyone else's.

Independence From Commercial Interests

Our editorial content is separate from our commercial relationships. Sponsored content, affiliate links and partnerships may appear on Daily Style Sage, but they are always clearly disclosed, and they never change which products or ideas we recommend. Brands can't buy a positive review.

Sponsored Posts and Affiliate Links

If a post is sponsored, it is labeled as sponsored at the top. If we use affiliate links, we say so, and a commission never affects what we recommend. We would rather lose a sale than recommend something we wouldn't wear.

Keeping Posts Current

Evergreen posts, such as how to style a pair of jeans, are reviewed every 6 to 12 months. Seasonal and trend posts are reviewed more often because they go out of date faster. During a review we check links, prices, availability and our own advice, and updated posts show the revision date.

Standards for Fashion Advice

Style advice is personal, and results vary with body, budget and taste. That is why every article on Daily Style Sage is backed by hands-on testing, personal experience or thorough research, and why we explain the reasoning behind a recommendation instead of just telling you what to buy.
